細い鉄の脚の上に、アピトンの古材とガラスで組んだ小さなケースを載せました．
脚は床から850mm．
目線の少し下にケースが浮かびます．
ガラスは四方と天面の五面．
どの向きから見ても中のものが見えて、背面もそのまま抜けます．
アピトンは、かつて船の甲板やトラックの荷台に使われてきた重く硬い木です．
鉄染めで色を沈めると、木目の詰まった表情がそのまま残りました．
鉄はクリア塗装のみ．
黒く塗り込めず、素材の色で立たせています．
置くものは、ひとつで足ります．
小さな器、古い道具、拾ってきた石．
床から離して、まわりに何もない場所をつくると、見え方が変わります．

A small case of aged apiton and glass, raised on a slender iron frame.
The stand lifts the case to 850mm, just below eye level.
Glass on four sides and the top leaves the contents visible from every direction.
Apiton once served as ship decking and truck beds — heavy, dense timber.
An iron-dye finish settles the colour while keeping the close grain visible.
The iron is finished in clear coat alone, left in its own tone rather than painted out.
One object is enough.
A small vessel, an old tool, a stone picked up somewhere.
Lifted off the floor with space around it, it reads differently.
