灯りの試作と雑貨とアリビラさん。｜Indigo Letter #92

湿度がぐんと上がり、半袖の出番が増えてきた沖縄。
みなさま、いかがお過ごしでしょうか。
Hello,
Humidity has risen here in Okinawa, and we’ve started reaching for short sleeves more often.
How have you been?
工場では、7月の企画展に向けて、テーブルランプのベースの試作が続いています。
ひとつひとつのパーツから全体像が組み上がるまでには、やはり時間がかかります。
ぼんやりとしたイメージを少しずつ形にしていく作業も、ようやく輪郭が見えはじめてきました。
最近の工房の風景を、少しだけ。
We’ve been continuing to prototype the base for a table lamp for our upcoming exhibition in July.
It takes time for the full form to emerge from individual parts.
The vague image we had in mind is slowly taking shape, and its outline is finally becoming
Here are a few glimpses from the workshop recently.
As for Indigo, we wrapped up our collaboration exhibition with great success—thank you so much to everyone who kept us in mind!
Right after that, we dove straight back into moving the workshop, squeezing in deliveries here and there.
Amidst all that hustle and bustle, a new set of shelves has found its place at Indigo.

This will be a collaborative exhibition with TEORI WORKS and ema.
We’re excited to see how everything comes together,
and we’ll share more with you soon.
制作の合間には、小さな雑貨も少しずつ。
最近はトタンに惹かれていて、
カード立てや、トタンで作った蓋のキャニスター、
オブジェの土台にもさりげなくトタンを忍ばせています。
In between larger projects, we’ve also been making small items.
Lately, we’ve been drawn to tin.
We’ve been creating card holders, canisters with tin lids,
and quietly incorporating tin into the base of objects.
素材の表情を活かしながら、手に取りやすいかたちでお届けできたらと思っています。

We hope to bring out the character of the material in forms that are easy to live with.
Web Shopに、ライトとスツールをアップしました。
We’ve added new items to our online shop, including lights and stools.
長年作り続けている古材と磨りガラスのライトを、少しブラッシュアップ。
磨りガラスの上部を木枠の窓のように丸くかたどり、ソケットは金属製に変更しました。
We’ve refined our long-standing design using reclaimed wood and frosted glass.
The top of the frosted glass is shaped like a rounded wooden window frame,
and the socket has been changed to metal.
灯りを消しても美しく、よりすっきりとした印象に。
よりIndigoらしい佇まいになったように感じています。

最後に、ご納品家具のご紹介。
読谷にあるリゾートホテル・アリビラ様より、本棚の製作をご依頼いただきました。
We were commissioned to create a bookshelf for Hotel Alivila in Yomitan.
数年前にオーダーいただいた本棚を、今回はひとまわり小さなサイズで。
こうして時間を経て、再びお声がけいただけることを、とてもありがたく感じています。
毎年アリビラのお庭で開催されている「パティオフラワーフェスティバル」。
今年はさらに規模を広げて開催されるそうです。本棚には、植物にまつわる洋書や、美しい装丁の本が並ぶ予定とのこと。
It is a slightly smaller version of a bookshelf we made for them a few years ago.
We feel truly grateful to be asked again after all this time.
Each year, Alivila hosts the Patio Flower Festival in its garden,
and this year it will be held on an even larger scale.
The bookshelf will hold books related to plants, including beautifully bound volumes.
一冊一冊の表紙がきれいに見えるよう、少しだけ角度や奥行きを意識して設計しました。
設置場所は、海風が心地よく抜ける場所。
その環境に合わせて、重心を低く、安定感のあるつくりに仕上げています。
花と本、そして光のある空間の中で、
静かに佇む一台になってくれたら嬉しいです。
フェスティバルの会期は6月まで。機会がありましたら是非アリビラの花が溢れる素敵なお庭でお過ごし下さいね。
We designed it with slight angles and depth so that each book cover can be seen clearly.
It will be placed in a spot where the sea breeze passes through.
To suit that environment, we designed it with a low center of gravity for stability.
We hope it will quietly settle into a space filled with flowers, books, and light.
