裏の畑で見つけた春と、灯りの展示会の小さなご報告。｜Indigo Letter #91
こんにちは。
春の気配が少しずつ濃くなってきましたが、皆さまいかがお過ごしでしょうか。
Hello,
Signs of spring are slowly appearing around us. I hope you are all doing well.
裏の畑に生えていた一本の木。
草刈りをしていたらつるのように伸びた枝に、小さな蕾がたくさん付いているのが気になって、3月に入ってから店の花器に挿してみました。
In the field behind our shop, there was a tree that had always been there.
Its vine-like branches were covered with small buds, so at the beginning of March I brought a few branches inside and placed them in a vase.
すると、みるみる蕾がふくらみ、やわらかな葉っぱが顔を出し、はっとするような紫色の花が、次から次へと咲きはじめました。
Before long, the buds began to swell, soft leaves appeared,and striking purple flowers started blooming one after another.
調べてみると、それは藤の花。
今まで咲いていたことに、まったく気がついていなかったのです。
When I looked it up, I learned that it was wisteria.
Somehow, I had never noticed it blooming before.
静かにそこにあったものに、ふと気づく瞬間。
来年の春の楽しみが、一つまた増えました。
季節が刻々と巡っています。
Sometimes the most beautiful things are the ones quietly waiting to be noticed.
Now I have something new to look forward to next spring.
Another season is gently turning.
先日、88/90Productsの灯りと時計の展示会 “Quotation” が無事に会期を終えました。
Recently, the exhibition “Quotation” by 88/90 Products, featuring lights and clocks, came to a close.
展示会のたびに、「お客様は来てくださるだろうか」といつも不安になります。
そんな中、私たちと同じように店を経営している友人や先輩たちがSNSで告知をしてくれたり、メッセージを送ってくれたりと、本当にほんとうに勇気づけられました。
Every exhibition brings a little nervousness—wondering whether people will come.
This time, friends and mentors of the shop shared the event on social media and sent encouraging messages. It meant so much to us.
忙しいはずなのに、さりげなく力を貸してくれること。
その温かさに、ただただ感謝しかありません。
Even though everyone is busy, they still found time to support us.
We are simply filled with gratitude.
今回のコラボ作品も、多くの方に手に取っていただきました。
灯りや時計のデザインによって、個人のお客様とお店の方とで選ばれる傾向が少し違っていたのも、とても興味深く感じました。
Many visitors spent time looking closely at the collaborative pieces.
It was interesting to see how different designs of lights and clocks appealed differently to individuals and shop owners.
Indigoのフレームを88/90の保田さんに託し、古道具と組み合わせてもらう。仕上がりが正解か分からないんです、とぽろっとこぼしていた保田さん。私たち、めちゃ気に入ってますよ！
We entrusted Indigo’s frames to Yasuda of 88/90, who paired them with antique objects.
“I’m not sure if the result is the right answer,” Yasuda said quietly.
But we absolutely love how they turned out!
手元に残った作品たちは、これから保田さんとともに全国の展示会を巡っていく予定です。
お近くで機会がありましたら、ぜひ足を運んでみてください。
The pieces that remain will now travel with Mr. Yasuda to exhibitions around Japan.

Indigoでは、次の展示会を7月に予定しています。
今回は「灯り」をテーマに、陶芸家の方と織元作家のお二人をお迎えしての展示になります。
This exhibition will center around the theme of light,featuring works by a ceramic artist and a textile artist.
Here at Indigo, the next exhibition is planned for July.
工芸と聞くと、少しかちっとした印象を持たれるかもしれませんが、
お二人ともとても自由で柔らかな感性の持ち主。
Indigoの空間と合わさって、どんな展示になるのか。今からとても楽しみにしています。
When we hear the word “craft,” we might imagine something formal or traditional,but both artists have wonderfully free and gentle sensibilities.
We are excited to see how their work will blend with the Indigo space.
作品の試作も、ちょうど今仕上がるところ。
またこちらでもご紹介できたらと思っています。
The first prototypes are just about to be completed,and we look forward to sharing them with you soon.
最近のIndigoは展示の話題が多く、オーダー家具屋であることを少し忘れてしまいそうですが、家具の制作もしっかりと進めています。
写真は先月ご納品したダイニングテーブル。
With all the exhibition talk lately, it may sound as if we have forgotten that Indigo is primarily a custom furniture studio—but rest assured, furniture making continues steadily as well.
The photo shows the dining table we delivered last month.
次のお手紙は少し間があいて、4月18日（土） にお届けする予定です。
Our next letter will arrive a little later than usual,scheduled for April 18.
季節の変わり目、どうぞお身体を大切に。
